Kollam (Kerala), Dec. 31 -- Veteran journalist Mathew A. Thomas (60), Senior Political Correspondent of 'The New Indian Express' and former Bureau Chief of its Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam bureaus, was laid to rest at the Narikkal Bethel Mar Thoma Church, Punalur, following funeral services at his residence on Wednesday.
Mathew had started his journalism career with 'Malayala Manorama' before joining 'The New Indian Express' as a Kottayam correspondent in 2000. He later served as the Thiruvananthapuram Bureau Chief from 2011 to 2014 and continued as Senior Political Correspondent. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he reported extensively on politics, culture, and environmental issues, earning wide respect in media circles.
