Mumbai, March 7 -- Hindustan Zinc, a subsidiary of Vedanta, a major Indian natural resources conglomerate, has signed an MoU with Virginia Tech to improve silver recovery from lead-zinc operations to advance scientific research to improve silver recovery across its lead-zinc (Pb-Zn) concentrators, according to an official statement here today.

Lead-zinc concentrators are specialised plants which process lead and zinc ore from mining activities, where lead, zinc and silver are separated as well as concentrated from the ore using what is known as a flotation process.
