Thiruvananthapuram, May 15 -- Kerala Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan on Friday made a crucial visit to the residence of senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala in a major reconciliation effort aimed at easing tensions within the party following the Chief Ministerial announcement.
Satheesan arrived at Chennithala's residence shortly after meeting outgoing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan earlier in the day. He was received by Congress leaders Abin Varkey and Anwar Sadath, while senior party leaders were also present during the discussions. Chennithala reportedly welcomed Satheesan with a smile, indicating a possible thaw in relations after days of political unease within the Congress.
