Burgenstock, June 22 -- US Vice President JD Vance today said the first round of direct talks between Washington and Tehran had produced "good progress", expressing that the discussions had established a framework for future talks and laid the groundwork for a larger agreement.

"The final deal is the house," he told reporters. "We set the foundation. We haven't built the house, but we've laid a successful foundation to get to a good place for the American people."Regarding the situation in Lebanon, and the fighting between the Israeli military and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in the country, he called the past 24 hours as being "probably the most peaceful that we've seen" in Lebanon since the war began, reports CBS News.
