Burgenstock, June 21 -- As US-Iran talks began in Switzerland, US Vice President JD Vance called the meeting a historic opportunity to reshape bilateral relations and transform West Asia by building on the agreement reached between Tehran and Washington.
Vance extended gratitude to Pakistan and Qatar for their role in mediating the negotiations, and lauded President Donald Trump for supporting a diplomatic path for resolving the country's war with Iran.
"The opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the ending of the Iranian nuclear program, all of these things have already been accomplished," Vance said.
