Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday jointly flagged off the new tri-weekly Puri-Koraput Express from Puri Railway Station and later inaugurated the daily Berhampur-Udhna (Surat) Amrit Bharat Express at Berhampur.
The Berhampur-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express, which was previously operating three days a week, has now been upgraded to a daily service, significantly enhancing rail connectivity between Odisha and western India.
The two new services are expected to strengthen passenger connectivity within Odisha and improve links with western India, while boosting tourism, trade, employment opportunities and regional socio-economic development.
