Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 23 -- Senior BJP leader and former union Minister V. Muraleedharan today slammed the absence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan at the ceremony held at Raj Bhavan to unveil the bust of former President K.R. Narayanan.
Muraleedharan said their absence was not only a disrespect towards the late President and the incumbent President Droupadi Murmu, who unveiled the bust, but also an insult to the entire Dalit community.
He pointed out that the President's visit to Kerala was planned well in advance and said the Chief Minister could have easily adjusted his foreign tour schedule to attend the event.
