Panchkula, Aug. 29 -- Rainfall activity is set to intensify over the western Himalayan region, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand on August 31 and September 1, while Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience heavy rain for five days from August 31 to September 4.

In its All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued at 8.39 am on August 29, the IMD said fairly widespread to widespread rainfall was likely over Uttarakhand from August 29 to September 4, Himachal Pradesh from August 30 to September 4, and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh on August 31 and September 1.
