Dehradun, Sept. 24 -- A day after Ram Madhav was made party's state in-charge for Uttarakhand, BJP's central leadership today appointed RSS ideologue Phanindranath Sharma as new state organisational general secretary.
The post meant mainly for RSS ideologues had been vacant since the departure of Sharma's predecessor Ajay Kumar.
Phanindranath Sharma, currently state BJP general secretary in Haryana, is considered a seasoned leader and strong organisational strategist in the party. In 2023 BJP central leadership assigned him the responsibility of Haryana, replacing GR Ravindra Raju who was handed over the charge of Assam and Tripura. Earlier, Sharma himself had served as organisational general secretary in Assam and Tripura.
