Washington, March 26 -- The US Department of Defense is drawing up military options for delivering a "final blow" to Iran, including scenarios involving ground operations and a large-scale bombing campaign, CNN reported, citing officials familiar with the discussions.

The planning comes as the conflict enters a critical phase, with US officials warning that escalation could become increasingly likely if diplomatic efforts stall and if Tehran continues to leverage the Strait of Hormuz for geopolitical pressure, CNN said in its report.
