Chennai, Feb. 24 -- Experts offered mixed assessments on the impact of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling voiding country-specific import tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, including on India, while leaving sectoral tariffs intact.
The American apex court ruled that the country-specific import duties are illegal, but didn't touch the sectoral rates and Trump has announced tariff as 15%. According to Moody's Analytics, the court ruling also raises questions about the recent trade deals made with India and Indonesia.
