Washington, Aug. 26 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told several foreign counterparts that, at least for now, Washington is not going to conduct any further strikes on Iran, reports Axios.
According to two sources, Washington is instead focusing on overwhelming Tehran with sustained economic and maritime pressure, including the new sanctions campaign and the naval blockade, while pushing more oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
Rubio reportedly made clear that the US is not planning to return to major combat operations "for the time being", although he did not rule out strikes if Iran attacks first.
