Washington/Kyiv, Aug. 15 -- Commenting on the issue of Ukrainian security ahead of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Donald Trump said that the US along with the entire West could grant Kyiv security guarantees, but ruled out any possible NATO membership, reports TASS.
"Maybe, along with Europe and other countries," the US leader said when asked to comment on the possibility of the United States providing security guarantees to Ukraine.
But he ruled out NATO membership, stating "Not in the form of NATO, because, you know, there are certain things that aren't going to happen," Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One, bound for Anchorage for his talks with Putin.
