Washington/Beirut, April 16 -- US President Donald Trump reportedly spoke directly with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday amid mounting pressure over a possible ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, with the situation being described by officials as approaching a defining moment.
The call, confirmed by the Lebanese presidency, comes at a time when Israel's leadership is still weighing its options. A security cabinet meeting in Jerusalem ended without a decision, though an Israeli defence official said a ceasefire could still be announced soon.
"We are at a crossroads. Nothing is final, but it could happen today," the official said.
