Tehran, March 17 -- Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the fate of senior Iranian official Ali Larijani after Israeli and US intelligence sources suggested that he may have been possibly eliminated in a recent strike, though this report remains unconfirmed and is little more than speculation at this point.
Israeli media reported that Larijani had been targeted, but did not confirm whether he had been killed or wounded. Iranian state outlets have not directly addressed the claims, instead saying a message from him would be released, adding to the uncertainty.
Israeli officials also said another senior figure, Gholam Reza Soleimani, head of the Basij paramilitary force, had been killed in an airstrike.
