Washington, Sept. 2 -- Iran launched missile and drone attacks against US allies in the Middle East on Wednesday after the United States carried out fresh strikes on targets linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), escalating a conflict that has entered its seventh month.

Jordan's armed forces said they intercepted 10 ballistic missiles, while Bahrain reported to have intercepted Iranian drones. The attacks came after US forces struck Iran in retaliation citing that Iran was attempting to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz and a missile attack on a US base in Jordan.
