Burgenstock, June 21 -- High-level talks between the United States and Iran got underway in Switzerland on Sunday, Qatar said, as the Lake Lucerne summit and the first meeting began with representatives of the U.S., Iran, Qatar and Pakistan taking part.

The Qatari foreign ministry said the meetings were aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting agreement addressing all aspects of an earlier memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari said specialized technical groups had been formed to negotiate the terms of a final agreement, along with follow-up groups tasked with overseeing implementation of the memorandum and tracking progress, Iranian media reported....
