Islamabad, Aug. 11 -- The US and Iran are close to reaching an arrangement over the Strait of Hormuz despite their hardened positions over the standoff, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Tuesday.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Asif claimed that Washington and Tehran were "close to some sort of arrangement" over the strategic waterway, which has become one of the biggest points of contention between the two sides to resuming talks.
His comments came as Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian leaders in Tehran as part of Islamabad's renewed efforts to resolve the Hormuz standoff and revive the on-halt negotiations.
A Pakistani government source told Turkiye's Anadolu Agency that Naqvi would present "some new proposals"...
