Washington, April 11 -- US intelligence indicates that China is preparing to deliver new air defense systems to Iran within the next few weeks, CNN reported late Friday, citing three people familiar with recent intelligence assessments.
The US media stated that there are indications Beijing is attempting to route the shipments through third countries to mask their origin.
This development comes as President Donald Trump is set to visit China early next month for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump has also warned that imports from countries supplying Iran with military weapons will face immediate 50 percent tariffs with no exemptions.
