Nashville, Oct. 10 -- US death row inmate Christa Pike has been discharged from hospital and returned to the Tennessee prison where she has spent the past 30 years, following a failed execution attempt last month, her lawyers said on Saturday.

"She is grateful to the first responders and her medical team for their care in these extraordinary circumstances," her lawyers said in a statement, adding that she would continue receiving medical treatment in prison.
