Washington, June 21 -- A meeting between US and Pakistani delegations began on Sunday in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock, on the sidelines of US-Iran negotiations, the White House press pool said.
US Vice President JD Vance and special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner greeted Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at the resort before the talks began, according to the pool report.
"The meeting is now underway," the White House press pool said.
The discussions come as technical-level negotiations between the United States, Iran, and mediating countries Pakistan and Qatar are also expected to begin in Burgenstock behind closed doors.
