Montevideo, June 4 -- Midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta will remain part of Uruguay's squad for the FIFA World Cup despite suffering a leg muscle injury, the Uruguayan Football Association said.

The 32-year-old left training on Tuesday and subsequent exams showed a grade two tear in his right calf.

"The corresponding tests were carried out and the case was assessed with the necessary time, concluding that he will be able to be part of the World Cup delegation," the AUF said in a statement on Wednesday, without providing further details.
