Mumbai, March 23 -- The chaos during the Satara Zilla Parishad Presidential election last week triggered an uproar in the Maharashtra Legislature on Monday, with the issue escalating into a heated debate in the Legislative Council.
Taking serious cognisance of the developments, Council Chairperson Neelam Gorhe directed the immediate suspension of Satara Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi. The directive came after members raised strong objections over the handling of the situation during the election process.
