Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 26 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has greeted the people on the occasion of Republic Day and called for renewed collective resolve to protect the Constitution and the democratic foundations of the country.
In his message, the Chief Minister said Republic Day evokes the proud memories of India becoming a sovereign, democratic republic.
He observed that the nation is currently passing through a period in which the essence of the Constitution and democratic values are facing serious challenges, with conscious attempts being made to erode secularism and weaken the federal principles upheld by the Constitution.
