Lucknow, Nov. 11 -- Uttar Pradesh has been experiencing a steady decline in mercury level over the past few days as recent snowfall in the Western Himalayas, cold and dry northwesterly winds have brought a significant drop in temperatures across most parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, clear skies have increased radiation cooling at night. Besides, the anticyclone over central India is contributing to the ongoing subsidence of cold winds.
These combined factors have led to both day and night temperatures falling well below normal in most areas of the state.
