Kochi, Oct. 28 -- UP Warriorz secured Australian all-rounder Sophie Molineux for Rs 1.1 crore after outbidding defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 mini-auction here on Wednesday, strengthening their spin attack with a player who played a key role in RCB's title-winning campaign in 2024.
UPW opened the bidding at Rs 50 lakh, but RCB joined the contest and pushed the price to Rs 95 lakh within seconds. The two franchises continued their battle, with RCB raising the bid to Rs 1.05 crore before Warriorz made the decisive offer of Rs 1.1 crore.
