Lucknow, April 23 -- Uttar Pradesh is sharpening its focus on tourism-led job creation as part of its broader USD 1 trillion economy vision, with the sector expected to play a much larger role in employment generation over the next two decades.

With tourism's current share in total employment at around 1.4 per cent, the state is working towards increasing it to 5 per cent by 2047 in a phased manner.

Officials here on Thursday say the strategy hinges on expanding tourism infrastructure, improving visitor experiences, attracting private investment and unlocking new opportunities through innovation-led enterprises.
