Lucknow, Oct. 16 -- Uttar Pradesh is blending the spirit of Navratri with women's empowerment and cultural preservation, offering 78 local artists a platform to perform at 26 Devi temples across 24 districts from October 17 to 19.
Organised by the Culture Department under Mission Shakti, the initiative will give priority to women performers, while showcasing traditional Devi songs and Durga Saptashati recitations and creating opportunities for local artists to gain recognition and support their livelihoods.
The initiative brings an artist and livelihood focus to the festival, using temple gatherings to showcase local talent while supporting the continuity of devotional singing and cultural traditions.
