Lucknow, Aug. 26 -- Uttar Pradesh is rapidly advancing in the field of electric mobility as the growing number of electric vehicles in the state is being accompanied by a continuous expansion of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

A senior official said on Wednesday that Uttar Pradesh has reached the third position in the country in terms of public EV charging infrastructure. So far, 1.767 million electric vehicles have been registered in the state.

According to officials, the increasing number of electric vehicles indicates that people in the state are rapidly adopting electric vehicles as an alternative to conventional petrol and diesel-powered vehicles. This is promoting the use of clean energy in the transportation sector...
