Lucknow, Sept. 13 -- Uttar Pradesh has launched an initiative to take Gen Z beyond digital screens and closer to the state's cultural and historical heritage, with nearly 600 students from PM SHRI schools explored the State Museum here on Sunday.

The visit marked the first major phase of the 'One Day Study Visit' initiative, under which students of Classes 9 to 12 from government secondary schools across 57 districts will visit museums run by the Culture Department in their own or nearby districts.

The students will be provided free entry, necessary assistance and guided tours as part of the programme aimed at giving young people a first-hand experience of the state's art, history and material heritage.
