Lucknow, March 17 -- In a renewed push to bring lesser-known heritage and religious sites into the tourism spotlight, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the development and beautification of the ancient Shri Mahadev Jalshayi Nath Temple in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow.

The project, estimated at Rs 89.82 lakh, has received its first instalment of Rs 60 lakh to accelerate development works.

Announcing the initiative, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the temple complex will be upgraded with modern amenities while preserving its religious significance.

The project aims to enhance facilities for the growing number of devotees and strengthen Lucknow's position as an emerging hub of religious tourism.
