Lucknow, Aug. 31 -- The Uttar Pradesh government is setting up a special board for the welfare of nomadic and Vimukta castes, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced today.

Participating in the Vimukta Jati Diwas celebrations here, the chief minister said that along with the welfare Board, work will also be done on the plan to provide colonies and houses to the people of these castes.

While wishing everyone on Vimukta Jati Diwas, Yogi Adityanath said that castes like Nat, Banjara, Bavariya, Sasi, Kanjar, Kalbelia, Sapera and Jogi are the brave castes of the country who fought as warriors during foreign attacks.

He said these castes fought with indomitable courage sometimes against the Mughals and sometimes against the Britishers.
