Deoria/Gorakhpur, Feb. 27 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday suspended Deoria's Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Shalini Srivastava, following allegations linked to the suicide of assistant teacher Krishna Mohan Singh. The action came after a departmental inquiry found prima facie evidence against her.
Deoria District Magistrate Divya Mittal had earlier reprimanded the BSA and recommended her suspension to the state government after receiving the inquiry report. During the suspension period, Srivastava will receive a subsistence allowance and has been attached to the office of the Director of Basic Education in Lucknow.
