Lucknow, Oct. 29 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified preparations to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state during Diwali, Chhath, and other festivals.
Urban Development and Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma has directed electricity department officials to ensure 24-hour power supply during the festivals. He clearly stated that Diwali is the festival of lights, and therefore, unnecessary power outages and frequent power cuts will not be tolerated.
Mr Sharma said that consumers' connections should not be disconnected during the festival season in the name of outstanding dues recovery. Large and organized power thieves should be identified and strict action should be taken against them as per the rules, a...
