Lucknow, July 21 -- Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Excise and Prohibition, Nitin Agarwal, has directed Excise Department officials to ensure that no loss of life due to liquor consumption occurs during the upcoming festive season.
Chairing a review meeting of the Excise Department's first-quarter revenue performance, the minister instructed district administrations and police to work in close coordination for swift action against the manufacture, supply and sale of illicit and country-made liquor. He stressed that effective enforcement must be ensured, particularly in districts bordering neighbouring states.
