Lucknow, July 4 -- Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Excise (Independent Charge), Nitin Agarwal, has claimed that due to transparent policies and technical monitoring, the Excise Department's revenue collection is steadily increasing and the manufacture, sale, and smuggling of illicit liquor is being curbed.
The minister in a statement here on Friday said that in the current financial year, the Excise Department has collected revenue of Rs 15,809.25 crore till June 2026, which is Rs 1,580.34 crore or 11.11 percent more than the revenue of Rs 14,228.91 crore collected in the same period of the last financial year.
