Lucknow, June 20 -- Uttar Pradesh has successfully completed the first phase of Census 2027, the House Listing and Housing Census, achieving 100 per cent coverage within the stipulated period, officials said on Saturday.
The exercise, conducted from May 22 to June 20, covered 390,717 houselisting blocks across about 1.04 lakh villages and 14,983 wards in all administrative units of the state.
According to the Directorate of Census Operations, the enumeration covered 75 districts, 350 tehsils, 17 municipal corporations, 200 municipal councils, 545 nagar panchayats, 13 cantonment boards and eight industrial townships.
Around five lakh enumerators and supervisors participated in the exercise.
