Lucknow, Oct. 19 -- : Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has directed election officials to prioritise the removal of duplicate entries from electoral rolls and warned that negligence in the process would invite action against the officials concerned.
"Laxity or negligence at any level will not be tolerated, and if negligence is found, action will be taken against the concerned officers and employees, holding them accountable," Rinwa said.
He issued the directions during a virtual meeting with District Electoral Officers and Electoral Registration Officers to review the removal of duplicate entries and preparations for the Special Campaign Day scheduled for October 24.
