Lucknow, Feb. 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for the day on Tuesday after paying tribute to two sitting members who passed away last month.
On the second day of the Budget Session, the House took up obituary references for BJP MLA Dr Shyam Bihari Lal and Samajwadi Party MLA Vijay Singh Gond, both of whom died in January.
The condolence motion was moved by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, along with leaders from other parties, who expressed their condolences. Speaker Satish Mahana also paid tribute, following which the House observed a two-minute silence.
Subsequently, the Assembly was adjourned for the day.
