Unnao, March 3 -- A woman Sub-Inspector posted at Uttar Pradesh's police station in Unnao, Rekha Dubey, has submitted her resignation to senior officials, alleging prolonged harassment and lack of justice in a case involving local political and police authorities.
Dubey claimed she had been fighting the system for the past two years, alleging that senior police officials failed to act because the matter was linked to Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma from Lakhimpur Kheri and certain police personnel. Instead of taking action, she alleged, officials subjected her to harassment. She said she often felt uncomfortable wearing the uniform due to the circumstances.
