Etawah, March 18 -- A 56-year-old woman died after being engulfed in a fire caused by a leaking cooking gas cylinder in Chhimara Nagariya village under the Vaidpura area of Etawah district today morning.
The deceased, identified as Virma Devi, wife of Lakhan Singh Shakya, was cooking food at around 11 a.m. when the incident occurred.
According to initial reports, a gas leak from the cylinder in the kitchen suddenly ignited, and the flames spread rapidly, leaving her with no time to escape.
At the time of the incident, her husband Lakhan Singh and sons Amit and Gaurav were working in the fields harvesting potatoes, and no other family member was present at home.
