Fatehpur, Jan. 23 -- A tragic accident occurred today morning when an earthen mound collapsed at a pond in the Khajuha area of Fatehpur district, killing a 12-year-old girl and injuring four other women, including her elder sister.
The incident took place around 10 a.m. at Kakraha pond, where local residents had gone to dig soil for plastering house floors and cooking stoves.
Chandni (12), daughter of the late Manoj Kumar and a resident of Katra locality in Khajuha, had gone to the pond with her elder sister Muskan. At the spot, Guddiya, wife of Surendra, her daughter Shivani, and sister-in-law Mona-residents of Hanuman Garhi locality-were already digging soil from the mound.
