Meerut, April 5 -- In a shocking incident, a 55-year-old woman was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Sisola Khurd village under Jani police station area, triggering panic and anger among residents, officials said today.
The victim, identified as Surajmukhi, was returning home after completing sugarcane-related work in nearby fields on Saturday evening, when she was suddenly surrounded by a group of strays. The dogs attacked her viciously, inflicting severe injuries on her face, abdomen and other parts of her body.
Hearing her cries for help, local farmers rushed to the scene and managed to drive the dogs away after considerable effort. However, Surajmukhi had already suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.
