Rampur, July 23 -- A Samajwadi Party delegation, led by Leader of the Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey, today submitted a memorandum to District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi, demanding the revocation of the order to demolish Azam Khan's Maulana Jauhar Ali University.
Pandey, while talking to media, said that efforts are underway for Azam Khan's release from jail.
"Jauhar University was in the Gram Panchayat at the time of its construction and, it was not mandatory to have the map approved by the Gram Panchayat. If this should happen, many buildings in Rampur would be demolished.
