Hardoi, Feb. 14 -- The younger brother of a Deputy Commissioner posted in Mathura was allegedly hacked to death by assailants who stormed into his residence in Hardoi early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred in Mudramau village under the Pali police station limits, about 45 kilometres from the district headquarters.
The deceased, Vijay Pratap (35), was the younger brother of Ramendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner (Industries) in Mathura.
According to police, the attackers entered the house around 5 a.m. and assaulted Vijay with a sharp-edged weapon. Hearing his screams, his 78-year-old mother, Gomti, and neighbours rushed to the courtyard and found him lying critically injured in a pool of blood.
