Bareilly, April 1 -- Cyber Crime police in Bareilly have taken action against an online betting and fraud racket that allegedly duped people across multiple states.
The gang was operating illegal gaming apps and luring users with promises of high returns, police said on Wednesday.
Two accused, Suryabhan Patel and Vineet Kumar, have been arrested, while the alleged kingpin Shivam Kumar remains absconding. Police teams are actively searching for him.
Investigations revealed that Shivam operated several fake gaming websites and connected users, including some from foreign countries like Pakistan and Dubai. Initially, users were allowed to win small amounts to build trust.
