Pratapgarh, Aug. 6 -- Six members of a family, including two infants, were buried alive when a 100-year-old house caved in in the city on late Wednesday night due to heavy rain.
The deceased included parents, their son, his wife, and two children. Another person was critically injured.
The accident occurred in the Mahuli locality under the city police station area.
Police said that the night was hot and humid, so the family of seven was sleeping in an air-conditioned room. At 2 a.m., the roof of the house suddenly collapsed, burying everyone under the rubble.
