Aligarh, May 25 -- Uttar Pradesh police shot dead 2 criminals in an encounter here on Sunday night who had been robbing women.
The criminals had stolen earrings from a woman on Sunday afternoon, and police had been working to corner them since then.
Police surrounded the criminals late in the night near Madhauli Village. In the ensuing encounter, both criminals, Raza Mohammad and Momin, were killed.
The slain criminal, Raza Mohammad, had 40 cases registered against him. He was a resident of Rajapur village in the Simbhaoli police station area (Hapur), while Momin, a resident of Bulandshahr, had 27 cases registered against him. Two policemen were also injured in the encounter.
