Lakhimpur Kheri, May 18 -- Although 10 people were killed in a road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri on Monday when speeding truck collided head-on with a pickup van.
The van was carrying ten people, including two women. All of them died in the accident.
The accident occurred near Adlispur village on the Pilibhit-Basti highway, 40 km from the district headquarters at around 7 AM in the morning.
The impact was so severe that the front of the van was totally crushed and the heads of the passengers were shattered. One man's face was completely torn apart and people were trapped between the seats. Two people were thrown out onto the road. People nearby rushed to the scene, informed the police, and began relief efforts.
