Taipei, July 31 -- Unnati Hooda raced into the women's singles semifinals of the Taipei Open Super 300 after defeating fellow Indian Devika Sihag 23-21, 21-16 in the quarterfinals on Friday.
The 18-year-old will head to the BWF World Championships 2026 in New Delhi with confidence, where she is set to make her debut at the prestigious event.
Unnati was joined in the semifinals by another Indian Tanvi Sharma, who defeated Thailand's fourth seed Supanida Katethong 21-15, 18-21, 21-14 in a hard-fought women's singles quarterfinal.
In the semifinals, Unnati will face sixth seed Nguyen Thuy Linh of Vietnam, while Tanvi will take on Chinese Taipei's fifth seed Huang Yu-Hsun for a place in the final.
